tcballard: Snake Escapes into the Omarchy Software Install Screen

tcballard says the snake escaped the Omarchy installer into the software install screen, where, as Rails installs, the Omarchy logo draws itself in the active theme's colors over the still-visible package log, and asks dhh and ryanrhughes whether it can get into the Quattro release, saying even the waiting should feel like Omarchy; the video frame is an Installing Ruby on Rails dialog.

tcballard: Couldn't Leave the Omarchy Installer Alone

@tcballard

tcballard couldn't leave the Omarchy installer alone: animated logo, theme colors, and a live terminal for prompts and progress, asking ryanrhughes "fancy a review?" with Greptile's three findings fixed and pushed, and saying even waiting for packages should look good, linking omacom/omarchy pull request 13563; the still is an orange-bordered installer window over a dark orange-and-black illustrated wallpaper, reading "OMARCHY", "~0%", "Installing Ruby on Rails", and "Preparing installation" above a progress line, with "Use the controls above · Ctrl+C Cancel" at the bottom.

tcballard: Today in Omarchy Covers XPS Webcam Softness, Theme Picker Speed, Agent Usage Fixes, and a Boot Pin

@tcballard

tcballard's Today in Omarchy (3-Oct-2026) walks through Spencer Bull's XPS camera package repair that cut frame-to-frame noise from 9.2 to 1.9 on a tested XPS 16 after four separate software-stack faults, Keylimesoda's Quattro image-picker fix that caps expensive work at 33 delegates for people with hundreds of themes, DHH folding 25 community fixes into agent-usage code so Codex's lazy launcher no longer installs itself while being counted, and a Quattro migration that pins root= before upgrades so a ten-second window cannot leave a machine unbootable; the graphic is a black title card reading "TODAY IN" over a larger pixel "OMARCHY" in neon green.

OmarchyMac shares the first demo of its new installer "in the wild" at the Copenhagen Omarchy meetup, crediting maralcbr for getting it ready just in time; the attached screenshot is a tester's post about trying a beta of Omarchy M for Apple M chips, with the installer window on an Apple M1 showing Omarchy already installed and an option to remove it and return the space to macOS.
