@nkeilar · 2015 MacBook Pro
nkeilar ships raytube to cast an Omarchy desktop to an Apple TV (AirPlay 2) or Chromecast with zero-copy capture and H.264 encoding on the GPU, at what nkeilar says is about 11% of one CPU core on a 2015 MacBook Pro, plus a hidden TV desktop that only the TV sees and an Omarchy bar Cast menu plugin; the graphic walks Hyprland frames through zero-copy capture and GPU encode to AirPlay 2 and Cast.
@nkeilar · 2015 MacBook Pro (Intel, Radeon R9 M370X)
nkeilar reports local dictation on a 2015 MacBook Pro running about 2.6× faster in nkeilar's own benchmark, using Voxtype plus whisper.cpp on the old Radeon R9 M370X via Vulkan with greedy decoding, an encoder window sized to each clip, and kernels tuned for GCN 1.0, fully offline on Omarchy; nkeilar's chart shows 10 s dictation dropping from 4.57 s to 1.75 s and 25 s dictation from 6.55 s to 3.74 s across 26 recordings, with a median word match of 100%.
